“There’s envy and jealousy” – Micah Parsons says people are happy the Cowboys are losing and ‘the sky is the limit’ for this team

Micah Parsons had one of the most memorable rookie seasons as he won NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year honors Thursday night. Everyone expected Parsons to take home the DROY.
But what makes the Cowboys’ linebacker’s season is that he played all year with a knee injury he suffered in training camp. Parsons had 13 sacks, 20 tackles for loss, and 30 quarterback hits in 16 starts.
Micah Parsons revealed that he played with an injured knee during the entire season
When Parsons was asked about his health during the season, he would always downplay his status. In an interview with Bleacher Report Live, he revealed having suffered a knee injury while making a tackle during a training camp practice with the Los Angeles Rams on August 7. “It was at a point where I was like, ‘I’m in a position battle. I’m going against Jaylon (Smith). The first game is coming up soon.’ I was like, ‘This is the worst time for this to happen,’” Parsons said.
“It’s something that just kept lingering. When you hyperextend something, it needs rest. But I was like, ‘I can’t take no rest.’ The whole season I kept rehabbing, rehabbing, rehabbing so that way I could play in the games.” One has to wonder if Parsons won the DROY with an injured knee, what he could do when he’s at his 100 percent.
On The Jim Rome Show, Parsons showed his anger for fans who root against the Cowboys — “They’re jealous. There’s envy. Regardless of what happens, we’re still a top organization, and people hate it. They hate it. They want their team to be the Cowboys so bad.” He also added that everybody is happy when the Cowboys lose. Parsons wishes to change that: “I do really believe that. I see the guys around me and all the guys want it. If we clean up the little things, oh my gosh, the sky is the limit.”
The star LB received all 50 votes from Associated Press making him the first player in history to unanimously win the award. Parson came second in the NFL Defensive Player of the Year voting. Pittsburgh Steelers edge rusher T.J. Watt, who tied the league’s single-season sack record with 22 1/2, received 42 votes. Parsons received five.
Micah Parson has shown everybody that he’s going to dominate the league for years to come. He said, “I think next year is going to be a different type of hunger for me.”
