Such is the rarity of such an occasion, that it would be only the first time since 2009, neither one of those two legendary quarterbacks are involved in the conference championship games.

Tom Brady’s side Tampa Bay Buccaneers, succumbed to the Los Angeles Rams, 30-27, in a nail-biting game, which saw the Rams score from a last-second field goal. Similarly, for Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers, the No.1 seeded team suffered a shock defeat against the San Francisco 49ers by a close margin of 13-10.

The defeats were both a shock to fans, who had expected to see a heavyweight clash between the two giants of the game in the Conference games. The stage was all set for it to happen, had the two sides won their respective matches but it wasn’t to be and some fans could not be more disappointed.

With talks of retirement surrounding both Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady, it now only remains to be seen whether they stay on the circuit for yet another season to get a shot against each other and win the Super Bowl title which both of them so dearly want.
