The American Football Conference (AFC) is one of the two conferences of the National Football League (NFL) and is home to some of the most successful and storied franchises in the league. Teams in the AFC have a long history of competing for and winning conference championships and have consistently been some of the top teams in the NFL.
Talking about the game’s history, started back in 1960 and further in 1970 was merged with the NFL. As a part of the merger, the former AFC teams plus former NFL teams were given a place in the AFC. The champion of the Playoff is not necessarily to be the best team with the best records in their name.
The Houston Oilers were the first franchise to have won the first two AFL Championships in 1960-1961. This was the only team to have won two consecutive championships before it merged with the Buffalo Bills.
