The Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is on top of the world. The quarterback recently finished one of the best seasons by a quarterback and put a cherry on top by winning the Super Bowl for the second time in his career. He also won the 2022 league MVP and the Super Bowl MVP award. Apart from football, the 5-time Pro Bowler is also winning in life. He is married to a beautiful woman Brittany Mahomes and the couple recently welcomed their second child into the world.
The couple was high school sweethearts who later became the football power couple. They first met when they were in high school in Whitehouse, Texas, and reportedly started dating during their sophomore year. Furthermore, the couple officially tied the knot in March 2022.
And now Brittany Mahomes, the wife of the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Mahomes and the mother of two children, is a well-known personality around the league. But many people don’t know about her past where she also dominated athletics.

Did Brittany Mahomes ever play professional soccer?
Before becoming an entrepreneur, Brittany Mahomes used to play soccer during her college days. When Patrick Mahomes was slinging the rock at Texas Tech University, his then-girlfriend Brittany Matthews was playing soccer 440 miles away for the University of Texas at Tyler.
Brittany played 70 games as a forward for UT Tyler and scored a total of 31 goals and 14 assists during her 4-year career in college. In addition, during her last season, she set the record for most goals scored in a single season with 18 goals.
After her successful college career, she even went on to play club soccer with the Icelandic soccer club UMF Afturelding in 2017, where she played 5 games and scored 2 goals. Besides, she helped her club win the Championship trophy that season.
Why did Brittany Mahomes stop playing soccer?
Despite her successful soccer career, Brittany Mahomes never took her talents to the next stage. Instead of soccer, Brittany started to focus on becoming an entrepreneur. She became a certified personal trainer and created the Brittany Lyne Fitness.
Besides, the Mahomes family welcomed their first child in February 2021 and she became a full-time mom. Nevertheless, her love for soccer still continues, but just not as a player.
The Chiefs power couple Patrick and Brittany Mahomes are co-owners of the NWSL (National Women’s Soccer League) team, the Kansas City Current, which joined the league as an expansion team in 2021. The couple could be frequently seen in the games supporting their team, which has seen massive success so far, even reaching the Championship game in 2022.
