Jimmy Garoppolo has been one of the more hotly debated quarterbacks in the past few years due to his inconsistent play with the San Francisco 49ers. Recently ‘The Checkdown’ brought back a comedic moment from Gaaroppolo’s career that found himself on the good side of fans.

Jimmy Garoppolo came into the 2021 season with a huge amount of pressure on him as the 49ers made a huge trade to move up in the draft and select Trey Lance with the 3rd overall pick. That was San Francisco essentially telling Garoppolo that they believed he could not be their franchise quarterback.

Still, Garoppolo started 15 games and led the 49ers to a 9-6 record in those games, and threw for 3810 yards, 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He also had a passer rating of 98.7 which is certainly very good. Ultimately though, the 49ers had committed to Trey Lance with how much they gave up to get him.

That led many people to believe that Jimmy Garoppolo would find himself being traded ahead of the 2022 season given the number of QB vacancies. However, having already entered April now, he still hasn’t found a team and most QB needy teams have already addressed the issue resulting in some criticisms about Garoppolo.

A couple of fans had the fortunate opportunity to meet Jimmy Garoppolo seemingly after a game when they wished to shake his hand and possibly get a photo. Garoppolo noticed one fan and seemingly was going to shake his hand but then turned and ignored him in favor of another one.

In Garoppolo’s defense, he did turn down the fan for the other one literally wearing his jersey and probably would’ve joked about it afterward. It’s a funny moment to look back on for Garoppolo and if he does end up leaving San Francisco, then it is a cheeky way to go.
