Demetress Bell played 4 seasons as an offensive tackle in the NFL. He hasn’t played football ever since he was released by the Dallas Cowboys back in 2013. However, in recent days his name has been mentioned a lot due to his father and the controversial NBA legend Karl Malone. In 1984, Karl Malone, who was playing college basketball at Louisiana Tech had a child with 13-year-old Gloria Bell. That kid turned out to be a future NFL player Demetress Bell.
Bell is actually one of the three children Malone had out of wedlock. Nevertheless, Demetress Bell doesn’t have a good relationship with his father and he treats it as if his mother “went to the sperm bank.”
Bell grew up in Malone’s hometown in Los Angeles and earned a scholarship in basketball at Northwestern State. He played 88 games for the Northwestern State basketball team before he decided to shift his career to football. He was one of only four players to play both basketball and football in Division 1 in 2007. Nonetheless, after a successful college career, Bell went on to get drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft.

Demetress Bell played 4 years in the NFL
Demetress Bell played for 3 seasons and started 30 games for the Buffalo Bills as a left tackle. Despite his solid outing with the Buffalo-based football team, a shoulder injury that shortened his 2011 season resulted in the Bills moving on from him.
He was seen as one of the top tackles during the 2012 free agency and he ended up signing a 5-year $35 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. However, after an injury-riddled 2012 season, where he just started 5 games, the Eagles ended up releasing him.
The following year, Bell tried his luck with the Dallas Cowboys but couldn’t make it to the 53-man roster. He was cut by the Cowboys before the 2013 season and the league never heard from him again.
Demetress Bell is enjoying retirement
Ever since he was released by the Cowboys in 2013, Demetress Bell has been out of the sport and possibly enjoying his life after retirement. The former Bills’ offensive tackle has not been active on his social media accounts for the last 3 plus years. So, it is unsure of what Demetress Bell is up to nowadays and we just assume he is enjoying his well-deserved retirement.
