Most professional athletes in the United States grow up playing multiple sports for their high school, but some are very talented and athletic. They will end up having to choose a career in one sport despite being good at multiple sports. Even most NFL players have chosen football over the other sport they were equally good at. For instance, the Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray is the only player who has been drafted in the first round of two Major sporting leagues.

Murray was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the first round of the 2018 MLB Draft and one year later, he was drafted by the Cardinals as the first overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

The Montreal Expos were the first MLB franchise that was located outside the United States. The Expos were a Canadian professional baseball team that was founded on 27, May 1968.

They played in the NL East division until the franchise moved out of Canada and relocated to Washington D.C. to become the Washington Nationals in 2004. While in Montreal, the franchise never won the world series, but the team has been home to some of the greatest baseball players of all time.

Some of the notable players who played for the Montreal-based franchise are Gary Carter, Vladimir Guerrero, Pedro Martínez, and Randy Johnson. But what if we tell you, they also drafted one of the best football players of all time, too?

The NFL QB that could’ve ended up playing America’s favorite pastime for the Expos is none other than the legendary QB Tom Brady. An 18-year-old Brady was drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 18th round of the MLB Draft back in 1995.

However, Brady was more interested in pursuing his football dreams. Instead of playing as a catcher for the Expos, he decided to try his luck at football and enrolled at the University of Michigan.

After an up-and-down four-year stint with the Michigan team, he entered the 2000 NFL Draft and ended up getting drafted by the New England Patriots in the sixth round. And then the rest is history.

Tom Brady went on to win 7 Super Bowl Championships, has been to 15 Pro Bowls, and won the league MVP 3 times during his 23-year-long illustrious career and is widely considered the Greatest NFL Player of All-time. Saying that he made a good decision in 1995 might be a massive understatement.
