Xavien Howard has become a name to reckon with in the world of the NFL. He played college football at Baylor and immediately impressed a lot of people. As a result, he was drafted in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins.

After a few good seasons with the Dolphins, Howard felt he was being undervalued by the side. As a result, he had requested for a trade and it felt like his stint with the side was about to end pretty soon. However, the Dolphins managed to keep him and what comes as another piece of good news for the Dolphins fans, Howard has agreed to stay with the Miami-based franchise for a few more years.

Howard had openly claimed that he was underpaid by the franchise. In fact, while attending a training camp, he had famously stated, “I am just here so I don’t get fined.” After all this drama, it was evident that even the Dolphins might want to get rid of him.

However, the Dolphins surprised everyone and were able to convince Howard to a deal. As per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the two parties have now agreed on a new five-year contract with $50.691 million in new money. This deal will give Howard an average-per-year salary of $25.345 million.

Xavien Howard had three years and $39,308,823 left on his old deal, so in all, he is now under for five years and $90 million.
