Former NHLer Keith Tkachuk blasts his son’s team Florida Panthers following their disappointing 2022-23 regular season. Both of Keith’s sons are NHL stars in name of Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk and Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk.

Keith during his talk with First Up, stated that he’s disappointed by Panthers’ soft games with the Stanley Cup playoff knocking on the door. He admitted that the Senators may not be the best team in NHL, but they play hard and defend hard.

Keith time and again noted how frustrated Matthew was looking at his team’s performance. In the recent game against Toronto Maple Leafs, Panthers won 3-2, carrying a 37-31-7 record. Although the team won its round, it’s undeniable that their 4-game losing streak will come to haunt them as teams race for a playoff berth.

Keith Tkachuk further commented that he believes the Florida Panthers are responsible for their loss, as the team doesn’t play hard enough even with the 2022-23 season almost at its end. He wasn’t impressed with the Matthew Tkachuk’s Panthers losing 5-2 to Brady Tkachuk’s Senators.

He commented on First Up with Korolnek & Colaiacovo, “This is do-or-die for the Panthers right now. I watched them the other night and I know I am staying at Brady’s house and Brady’s team played really well.”

“They have some jam and, you know, I am a little disappointed with the Panthers. They are a soft team and they are getting everything they deserve right now. Instead of trying to get autographs on the ice from Matthews and Marner, they probably should check them a little harder.”

“Whatever it is, it is disappointing. I know I sound like a frustrated person, but I know every time I come and watch Ottawa, they may not be the most talented team but they’re going to play hard. Perhaps Florida could take a page out of their book.”

The Panthers will be facing off against Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday, fighting for the last playoff spot with only eight games remaining in the ongoing season.

Even Panthers coach Paul Maurice wasn’t too pleased with the team as he seemed to be shouting, “You’re playing like f***ing b****es, f***ing b****es” in the game against Leafs.

Sheldon Keefe spoke about the team’s performance, “I thought we played a good game. We didn’t score enough to win. We made some mistakes at the end that cost us the extra point.” He praised Ilya Samsonov as he came back on the ice after his son’s birth.

Keefe said, “I thought he was good — really good. We don’t help him with the first shot that he faced there. After that, we didn’t give up a lot, but I thought they definitely had some looks. He looked sharp.”
