Former Vancouver star Bruce Boudreau recently invited his friend and idol Kevin Owens for a friendly dinner at his place when the WWE visits Hershey, Pennsylvania. These two stars have been close for a long time and on several occasions showered support to each other on a live cast or on social media platforms.
Their friendship dates back to December 2021 when Jackie Redmond teased the NHL favorite, Bruce, on his love for wrestling champion Owens. As a return gesture, the WWE star responded to Sportsnet that the feeling was mutual. Both respected the other and offered warm words of encouragement during that time.
Things took a change when Kevin Owens surprised the 68-year-old coach with the 2022 NHL Draft Pick. Boudreau startled seeing his idol say hello to him, blushed red on-screen. His adorable reaction took social media by storm as fans gushed about Bruce and Kevin’s relationship.

Fast forwarding to the present 2023, Bruce Boudreau told WWE’s, Jackie Redmond on NHL Network that he invited Kevin Owens for dinners, tempting him with his favorite “burgers and fries” on the menu. Boudreau further delved deeper into their friendship stating his admiration for the star.
The bond between these two has only grown through the years as Kevin revealed donning Canucks custom-made KO jersey in WWE Live Event in Vancouver. He gave a shout-out to Bruce during his promo, thanking the coach for the warm gift. The event took place a few months back, unfortunately, the Canucks fired Boudreau on January 22, 2023.
Following the coach’s firing several celebrities, including different NHL team players took a stand for the coach on social media platforms. Undoubtedly even now, fans have continued showering Boudreau with their support, as he joined NHL Network as an analyst.
During this hard time, Kevin Owens took to Twitter to praise the NHL coach for his time and effort invested in the team. Kevins stated on social media, “Hey, you know who rules? Bruce Boudreau!”. Though Boudreau was fired in January, the NHL world is still seething over the news. As of now, Rick Tocchet has replaced Boudreau as Canucks head coach.
Some fans have shouted out that Darryl Sutter should be fired and be replaced by Boudreau, whereas some fans screamed on social media that he should instead coach Toronto Maple Leafs, replacing Sheldon Keefe. Though the fans have made their stance clear on Boudreau, it’s up to NHL to offer him a place behind the bench.
