Chicago Blackhawks captain and alternate captain Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane are unsure about their future as Blackhawks as their trade deadline looms near. While offers pour in for Kane, he has the luxury of a no-movement clause giving the forward the power to choose his destination.
As of now, Kane is yet to make a decision but his friend and former teammate, New York Rangers forward Artemi Panarin is excited to be in the same line once again. Panarin has vocalized his intent to make Kane sign with the Rangers. The 31-year-old forward also urged the Rangers to make a trade splash at the March deadline.
Kane said that his agent is taking calls from interested teams, “You know, try to go about my business playing hockey, but I mean, definitely had some internal talks with my agent, and I’m sure at some point, I’ll probably catch up with Kyle or whoever here – and see how it goes”.
“We still have to decide if we’re getting to that point yet, so, you know, I think there’s definitely opportunities out there that are intriguing and could be exciting, so yeah, I’m trying to see.”

As the March 3 deadline looms closer, Patrick Kane stated his intent to relish in the last moments if he’s to make his move to another team. He said during an interview, “You’ll probably cherish these five games a little more before the deadline just not knowing what’s going to happen”.
“It’s always exciting playing at home, always love playing at the United Center in front of the crowd here. Yeah, kind of wish you had a little bit more time here this month, but it is what it is, and cherish all these games.”
“It’s tough to decide if we’re getting to that point yet, so I think there’s definitely opportunities out there that are intriguing and could be exciting”. “We’ll see.”
Artemi Panarin and Patrick Kane played together from 2015 to 2017, won championships together, don the same jersey, and skated in the same line. Their chemistry was quite the talk of social media at that time, especially as Kane made his disappointment clear after Panarin was traded by the Blackhawks to Blue Jackets.
