Tage Thompson scores 3 goals paying tribute to Bill’s Damar Hamlin in Sabres’ OT win

Buffalo Sabres center Tage Thompson spectacularly scored 3 goals on Tuesday night in the game against Washington Capitals. His 3-goals were in regards to honoring the defensive back Bill’s star Damar Hamlin.
Walking into Tuesday night’s game against the Washington Capitals, the players donned “Love for 3” shirts in reference to Hamlin’s No. 3 jersey number. The game was staged at Captial One Arena where the Capitals paused at the start of the match praying for the Bills athlete.
Forward Tage Thompson staged the perfect way of honoring the star. He shot 3 goals in OT win for Sabres, neutralizing Capitals captains Alex Ovechkin’s advancements. It was Thompson’s 3rd hat trick of the 2022-23 season. Twitter went wild over the game, praising and supporting Thompson’s gesture.

Tage Thompson along with Sabres and Capitals honor Bill’s Damar Hamlin
The three goals were carefully planned. The first goal came in the first period, similarly the second in the second period. The greatest goal was saved for the climax of the day. Tage Thompson shot it in overtime giving the Sabres a 5-4 victory.
Alex Ovechkin who is chasing Wayne Gretzky’s road goal record was been halted by the 25-year-old forward. Nevertheless, Ovie did add two points getting closer to The Great One. While keeping Damar Hamlin in mind, the players started the heated game.
Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest during Monday night’s football game. He’s been at the Cincinnati Hospital ever since in critical condition. We pray for the defensive back to recover quickly and share the good news with his fans. All prayers and good wishes are with him.
During the game, it wasn’t only the players from the Capitals and Sabres who participated in honoring the great Bills player. Even the fans in the arena also stood up respecting him with a moment of silence. Bill’s representative Jordon Rooney told ESPN’s Coley Harvey on Wednesday morning that the doctors saw promising signs in Hamlin’s condition.
Though he has not crossed the critical stage yet, Harvey wrote on Twitter, “Per Jordon and Damar’s family, doctors overnight got promising readings that they had been hoping to see by this morning. Jordon couldn’t go into specifics, but progress appears to be made”.
