The NHL officials on the ice are recognized as Brandon Blandina and Ghislain Hubert. Ironically the same officials went ahead to pick Torey Krug’s helmet from the ice before handing it over to his teammates. Krug’s unusual blast in the penalty box surprised many fans as his temper has never flared so much.

Regardless of the incident, the St. Louis Blues defeated the Winnipeg Jets in a 3-0 record. Currently, the Blues carry 31-33-5 whereas, the Jets have a score of 39-29-3. In the 2022-23 season, Krug has made a record of 28 points with 6 goals and 22 assists in 51 games.

In his NHL career, as of now, he has participated in 689 games scoring 440 points with 84 goals and 356 assists. The 31-year-old surely put on a great show during the first period of the game. The 2nd period of the game didn’t paint much of a different picture than the first.

Blues alternate captain Brayden Schenn engaged in a fistfight with Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers. The incident took place during the last minutes of the 2nd period as the Blues carried a 2-0 lead. Forward Kasperi Kapanen played an active role in the Blues’ win against the Jets.

During the last few Blues game, goaltender Joel Hofer has been playing an important role in the team’s victory. Despite the Jets’ repetitive shots, Hofer protected the Blues earning the team their 4th victory in 6 games.

Hofer commented, “Obviously there’s a little bit more motivation, but I though the team played really well in front of me”. “Obviously they limited a lot of outside chances and it was nice to win, especially against those guys.”

“It’s OK. I don’t really care about it”. “I’m obviously happy to be here and to get the win in front of the home crowd, it was great.” Hofer replaced the suspended Jordan Binnington on Friday, marking his NHL shutout game this Sunday.

Blues coach Craig Berube said, “He’s not going down, but it’s great to see him playing well”. “It was great to see him get the shutout tonight. Good job by the team in front of him. He’s been doing a good job and he’s been playing well, so he knows he can do the job.”
