The Toronto Maple Leafs have started preparing for their upcoming Game 3 against the Florida Panthers, putting ample time practicing on the ice. However, as strong as they try to build themselves ahead of the crucial play-off round, many things seem offputting within the team. This can especially be seen in goaltender Ilya Samsonov’s attitude, who appeared to lose his cool during the practice.
The Maple Leafs’ goaltender appeared to snap after a failed poke check, which made him unable to stop a puck past him. This made him visibly agitated as he slammed his stick against the crossbar. While it is unclear what may have triggered such a reaction from the Russian goaltender, many fans suspect that Samsonov has been battling an injury throughout the series.
The Florida Panthers currently lead in 2 games ahead of Game 3 against the Maple Leafs. As many sports experts believe, it would be the end of the Canadian team’s postseason journey if they can’t capitalize on the opportunity in the upcoming game.

Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Ilya Samsonov trolled for his comments on Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky
The Maple Leafs’ 3-2 loss against the Panthers in Game 2 was embarrassing. Toronto was 2-0 up against the Panthers; however, during the second period, Ilya Samsonov conceded two goals against the Panthers just within 47 seconds.
Samsonov was visibly frustrated by his performance, which can anyway be seen from his agitation and snapping during the practice for Game 3. When asked about Panthers’ goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky’s performance, Samsonov replied, “I don’t give a f**k.”
The fans were quick to troll Samsonov for his quote, some even ridiculing his competency in the sport. Like here, one fan writes whether the goaltender likes golfing more than hockey.
However, some people also defended Samsonov, saying there was no fault of his in the Maple Leafs’ loss.
For the upcoming game in the series, Toronto must give in a tough fight to have their postseason hopes alive past the playoffs. Game 3 between Toronto Maple Leafs and the Florida Panthers will be played on Sunday at the FLA Live Arena.
