Ramona Shelburne and LeBron James

LeBron James is one of those athletes who has made people believe that the body is just the slave of the mind. At age 38, in year 20 of his NBA career, the decade-long King still sits on the throne. The Los Angeles Lakers star is still playing at an MVP level, which is unprecedented and unconventional. Great players like Michael Jordan and Tim Duncan, all had lost their steam at this age. However, call it unfortunate or a testament to his greatness that James continues to carry his team on his shoulders.

According to Ramona Shelburne, NBA analyst from ESPN, the most impressive aspect of the 4 x NBA champion is his longevity. “I think is most important and most impressive about where LeBron is in his career and as he approaches Kareem’s record, is just the longevity,” said Ramona. She also added that James being this good at 38, it’s a record in itself. “this is a record about longevity and that is what LeBron has in his game that I don’t think anybody can match in terms of how good he is at the age of 38,she added.

She also pointed out something that LeBron alluded to in his interview with Dave McMenamin. James said that he is not a scorer and considers himself a pass-first guy. Romona said that despite considering others as prolific scorers, James a non-scorer taking all-time scoring titles is beyond articulation. “He doesn’t even think of himself as a scorer…. There is other people you think of as prolific scorer but yet LeBron will hold the all the all-time record one day,” said Shelburne

Ramona Shelburne thinks Lebron James playing with his son is realistic

Bronny James and his father LeBron James

When James talked about playing with his son Bronny a few years ago, it was not only a far-fetched idea for NBA but for himself as well. According to him, it was just an idea, but here he is already making plans to play with his son. Shelburne also added that LeBron playing with his son is very much a possibility. “if he’s even half as good as he is now in two years I think it’s realistic,” Ramona added.

Dropping the retirement and defying the Father Time, the 4 x MVP is leading the Lakers in points this season. He is averaging 29.1 points, 6.7 assists, and 8.2 rebounds per game this season. He is recording numbers that have never been seen by a 38-year-old NBA player. LeBron is the oldest player ever to put these numbers. What makes James so lethal at this age is the devastating mixture of his skills, intelligence, the experience of a veteran, and physical prowess.
