Norway have had a dream run in the ongoing Tokyo Olympics. In Group A, they topped the points table winning all their five matches with an incredible goal difference of 47. Barring the game against the Netherlands where they won 29-27, every other game was one-sided.

Against South Korea, Montenegro, and Japan, they won with a goal difference of 12. In the quarter-final against Hungary on Wednesday, August 4, they had to fight hard. In the end, they won the match 26-22 and look firm favourites to qualify for the final as well.

Russian Olympic Committee, on the other hand, made a nervy start. They tied 24-24 with Brazil to start their campaign after which Sweden thumped them 36-24. However, with their backs pushed to the walls, ROC made a strong comeback and beat Hungary by a margin of 38-31.

Since then, ROC have built on their momentum. They won 28-27 against France and followed it up with a 34-31 victory over Spain. In the quarterfinal against Montenegro on Wednesday, they carried their good form and won the match by a margin of 32-26.
