Paul Skenes‘ girlfriend, Olivia Dunne, got back at the Cleveland Guardians on Monday. The former LSU gymnast trolled the American League Central side after the Pittsburgh Pirates crushed them 7-1 at Progressive Field in Cleveland.

This weekend, the Pirates traveled to Cleveland to face the Guardians. Following a 5-3 loss on Saturday in the second game of the doubleheader, the Pirates had Skenes on the mound for the series finale on Sunday.

Skenes, the reigning National League Cy Young Award winner, was dominant once again from the mound. He threw 7 innings and picked up 8 strikeouts while allowing just one run.

This one run sparked a little back-and-forth between Dunne and the team. The Guardians had runners on 1st and 3rd base in the 3rd inning while being 1-0 down. Steven Kwan executed a bunt, which saw Gabriel Arias beat the throw and slide in to level the game at 1-1.

Following this, the Guardians’ social media team tried to poke some fun at Skenes. They threw in the name of his girlfriend while sharing a clip of this bunt play.

Job well Dunne.

Fans on social media were not too pleased with this. Several Guardians fans attacked the team for this and urged them to focus on the games.

In the end, this tweet did not age well for the Guardians. The Pirates scored 6 more runs and emerged as 7-1 winners. This victory also saw them clinch the series.

Olivia Dunne decided to poke back on Monday. While reposting the tweet, the 24-year-old cheekily used her name and claimed that the game was done for the Guardians when the Pirates led 7-1.

This is not the first time the Guardians have faced some heat this season. Earlier in June, commentator Tom Hamilton took a dig at Jazz Chisholm Jr. during their matchup against the New York Yankees. The radio voice of the Guardians joked about Chisholm Jr.’s appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Olivia Dunne admitted that she was left frozen while facing Paul Skenes

There is no denying the fact that Paul Skenes is one of the top pitchers of the current generation. He has left hitters standing in the box. Recently, Olivia Dunne admitted that she tried to go up against him and failed miserably.

This season, Skenes earned his 3rd All-Star Game nod. However, he was ineligible to pitch as he started the final game before the Midsummer Classic.

Despite that, he arrived at the Red Carpet and sat in the dugout with his National League teammates. Dunne was at his side when they arrived at Citizens Bank Park.

During an interview with MLB Network, the American model and actress opened up about facing her boyfriend. Like several hitters, she was left frozen when he threw pitches at her.

I stood there and I was frozen.

It seems Dunne has also picked up some pitching tricks from Skenes. At the recent Fanatics Fest, she tried to throw a splinter. It was just a bit short of her target.

During the 2023-24 season, Dunne competed in eight routines on floor exercise and matched her career-high of 9.9 twice. She was also part of the LSU team that won the 2024 NCAA National Championship and the 2024 SEC (Southeastern Conference) Championship.

After suffering an injury in the 2024-25 season, she announced her retirement from gymnastics in April 2025. Since then, she has ventured into acting and was part of the Baywatch reboot cast this year.
