Armand Duplantis, a pole vaulter, set a new world record for the seventh time in his career. He jumped over a height of 6.23 meters or 20 feet and 5.25 inches during the Prefontaine Classic event.

Armand Duplantis from Sweden didn’t quite recall jumping over the bar to break the world record at the Prefontaine Classic. However, they were aware of what happened afterward. He laughed when he glanced up and noticed that the bar was still in its place. During the final stages of the season in the Prefontaine Classic, Armand Duplantis and Gudaf Tsegay established fresh track and field world records.
Mondo Duplantis, also called Mondo, jumped a distance of 6.23 meters, which is equivalent to 20 feet and 5 1/4 inches. The current world champion has beaten his own record for the furthest distance covered indoors. His new record is 6.22 meters, which is equal to around 20 feet and 4 3/4 inches.
Once he had made a successful jump, he found himself encircled by fellow competitors.Subsequently, he bounded onto the edge of the track and struck a pose, demonstrating his satisfaction with his triumph before the spectators at Eugene’s Hayward Field. According to Duplantis, “we are competitors and at the same time, we have a deep connection resembling brotherhood, finding pleasure in each other’s presence.”
He says he feel thankful to see them give him a big hug like that after I jumped and broke a record considered the best in the world. He is very thankful. Gudaf Tsegay, an athlete from Ethiopia, took part in a 5,000-meter race today. She performed excellently and completed the task in a remarkable time of 14:00.21, setting a new record.
Tsegay performed better than Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon by running faster than her previous time of 14:05.20 in Paris Tsegay’s time at the finish line was almost 12 seconds faster than her previous fastest time. Kenyan athlete Beatrice Chebet came in second place with a time of 14:05.92.
Following that, Tsegay, aged 26, made a commitment to attempt to finish a race in under 14 minutes next year. She said, “Yes, I will try.” The Prefontaine Classic is a big event that happens in May and marks the end of the international Diamond League schedule for the year.
A cash prize of $30,000 was awarded to each individual who emerged victorious in the competition. Before gearing up for the Olympic games in Paris next year, athletes concluded their preparations by taking part in this crucial international track and field competition.

Armand Duplantis and other athletes stun fans with awestruck performance
At the Tokyo Olympics’ 200-meter race on Sunday, Canadian sprinter Andre De Grasse won first place. He finished the race, which concluded his season, with a time of 19.76 seconds. The world champion from Jamaica, Shericka Jackson, finished first in the women’s race with a time of 21.57. Winning the Prefontaine competition over the weekend marks her second consecutive victory.

The Dominican Republic’s Marileidy Paulino achieved first place in the 400-meter race, clocking in at 49.58 seconds
