Despite what you might think, Olivia Dunne is just like any other college student at LSU. She’s at the tail-end of her senior year, but before she can celebrate, she’s got her finals to tackle. Finals are a nerve-wracking time for any student, and Dunne is likely no exception, which might be why she’s not as active on TikTok lately.

In a recent post on the app last Thursday, Dunne hinted that she is taking a short break from being in the spotlight. She shared a video where she playfully noted, “POV: it’s finals week.” While holding a pint of ice cream, she lip-synced to a popular sound bite.

The words she mouthed were originally from a clip by TikTok favorite Isaac HP, the same clip also used by none other than Kylie Jenner. Last month, Dunne confessed she does not go to physical classes anymore due to a scary experience.

She received a disturbing message related to one of her classes, prompting her to opt for safety over attending in person. It was so serious that Dunne did not think twice about anything else apart from her own well-being. In an Elle magazine interview, she first disclosed this change, and a police report from 2021 substantiated it, revealing she had been sent a threat via message. Even though the police investigated, no one was arrested.

Because of Dunne’s fame, the LSU gymnastics team has ramped up its security measures. Fans got a bit too excited during an event in Utah back in January, causing quite a disturbance. Dunne had to step in and ask her large online following to stay respectful and considerate. So, during the busy end of the semester, Olivia Dunne is focusing on her studies and taking a short break from being an influencer.

This is something that any hardworking student would understand. Olivia Dunne is upping her safety game for the upcoming gymnastics season. She’s happy with LSU’s solid safety plans, especially after last season’s scary event. As she gears up for her last year flipping and tumbling, she reflects on a year that was tough but rewarding. Being the center of attention was a rush, though a bit weird at times.

When she was hurt, a bunch of eager guys showed up outside, chanting that they wanted to see “Livvy” while her teammates performed. These fans waited outside Huntsman Center, causing such a stir that the police had to move the LSU team bus to keep things safe. They even put officers out front to block the boys from getting in. As she moves into her final school year, Dunne is thankful for her time at LSU and the lessons learned on handling fame.
