Riley Gaines claims that transgender identities are ‘spiritual warfare’ as spokesperson at Gov. Kim Reynolds’ event

Riley Gaines, a retired competitive swimmer and a critic of transgender rights, argued at Gov Kim Reynolds’ annual fundraising event that permitting transgender women to participate in sports and recognizing transgender identities overall is a manifestation of “spiritual warfare.”
Gaines, who was given the honor to address the audience, emphasized his firm Christian belief that the unfolding events can be viewed as a battle with spiritual implications. Nowadays, the focus is not on distinguishing between right and wrong or good and bad. The topic revolves around contrasting good and bad behaviors.
While engaged in pumpkin decorating and benefiting from the remnants of their barbecues, almost 500 Republicans listened to Gaines as she narrated her competition against Lia Thomas – a transgender swimmer from the University of Pennsylvania.
At the 2022 NCAA Swim Championships, Gaines and Thomas both ended up in fifth position in the 200-yard freestyle competition. According to Gaines, the NCAA officials desired Thomas to exclusively grasp the fifth-place trophy for the photographs.
Throughout the entire season, no one had the bravery to ask the question that Riley Gaines dared to ask. Gaines wondered, “What prompts you to insist on granting this trophy to a man in the women’s swimming freestyle event?” Gaines stated that Thomas had permission to use the women’s locker room, causing discomfort among her and the other teammates.
Gaines claimed that, according to a Christian perspective, the concept of transgender individuals does not exist, and this conviction goes beyond mere accommodations for them in sports. Thomas was referred to as a man multiple times in her speech.

Gaines emphasized the existence of solely two genders, males and females, and attributed their creation to God. The onlookers exuded immense happiness and excitement, punctuating the atmosphere with their loud shouts and raucous noises. Transgender people’s identities receive endorsement and affirmation from major medical organizations in America.

The recommendation is to offer healthcare that is in line with a person’s gender identity. With the introduction of Gaines, Reynolds publicly commended recent legislation in Iowa that effectively prevents transgender women and girls from engaging in women’s sports within schools, colleges, and universities.
She had devoted considerable effort and made significant sacrifices throughout many years. Regrettably, she was obligated to compete in the NCAA championship against an individual who was biologically male. Kim Reynolds stated that that mustn’t occur again. Iowa is not the place where it will occur.
One Iowa representative, Keenan Crow, expressed disapproval in a statement on Saturday regarding Reynolds’ approval of the transgender sports ban, highlighting the adverse effects it has on a vulnerable group of young people. She continuously exhibits hostility towards transgender individuals in Iowa. Crow expressed that while it may not disturb those who donate to her, it deeply affects and excludes the children who go through this hatred and exclusion.
