The name of Riley Gaines and Lia Thomas continues to spin around the world. The two swimmers have constantly attacked each other following the ban on the participation of trans athletes. Gaines has now revealed shocking details about how the administration threatened teammates of Thomas.
Gaines had previously slammed the institution for allowing Thomas to take part in women’s events. She had also revealed how they were treated, and her experience of sharing the locker room with Thomas. She had earlier claimed how her life had changed after competing with the trans swimmer.
Gaines claimed that Thomas’ teammates were forced every week to go to mandatory LGBTQ “meetings” to learn about their mistakes while oppressing Thomas. “If you feel uncomfortable seeing male genitalia, here are some counseling resources that you should seek,” Gaines alleged the organization of saying this when swimmers expressed their discomfort with sharing a changing room with her.
The former NCAA swimmer further alleged that the swimmers were further pressurized to stay silent and not speak up. “If you speak out you will never get a job,” Gaines said. “If you do speak out and any harm whatsoever comes towards Thomas’ way, whether that’s through social media, physical, mental, emotional harm, then you are solely responsible,” Gaines added.

Following the incident at the NCAA championship, Riley Gaines has emerged as a women’s advocate, fighting for their safety. During her appearance at the Young America Foundation, Gaines was asked by a spectator whether she had any conversation with Thomas after the incident. The Kentucky swimmer shook her head and claimed there have been no talks between them since the little acknowledgment during the tournament.
Gaines though is keeping tabs on her rival’s activity. She pointed out how Thomas has gone quiet in recent weeks. She mentioned how the trans athlete had done 3-4 interviews, one with ESPN. The media network had honored with an award in March, which led to Gaines slamming them. The last notable appearance of Thomas had been on the podcast with fellow trans athlete Schuyler Bailar.
While many states in the US have laid out a ban on trans athletes from school and college events, several are yet to follow it. How long will this topic continue to swerve around is uncertain. However, with the ways things are moving forward, more such revelations and arguments from Gaines and Thomas will follow.
