Tokyo Olympics: Karate Live Results Men’s Kumite +75 Kg and Women’s Kumite +61 Kg

The day 15th of the Tokyo Olympics games 2020 marked the final day of Karate events. The weight categories that are being conducted at Nippon Budokan on the final day are Men’s Kumite +75 Kg and Women’s Kumite +61 Kg. Catch here all the details of Karate Live Results from the Tokyo Olympics.

The Men’s +75 Kg category consisted of 10 players representing 10 different nations of the world. These players have been divided into two pools of five players each and the top 2 Karatekas from each pool will fight in the semi-finals against each other.

The Women’s +61 Kg weight category also consisted of 10 players from 10 different nations of the world whose competition is also being held under the same format. Here are both the pool and Karate Live Results from Nippon Budokan.

Tokyo Olympics: Sajjad Ganjzadeh from Iran won Gold Medal in the Men’s Kumite +75 Kg event via DQ

The Irani Karate player, Sajjad Ganjzadeh secured the Gold Medal in the Men’s +75 Kg Kumite event of Karate at Tokyo 2020. He won three out of his four league stage matches and defeated Ugur Aktas from Turkey in the semi-final fight to enter the finals.

He won the Gold Medal in a way he never wanted to win, his opponent Hamedi landed an illegal kick that led him to be disqualified from the fight. Ganjzadeh left the arena on a stretcher but he became the Olympic champion on the +75 Kg Men’s Kumite event at Tokyo Olympics.

Karate Live Results: Tareg Hamedi from Saudi Arabia clinched Silver Medal and left the mat with tears in his eyes

The Karateka from Saudi Arabia, Tareg Hamedi won two out of his four fights in the group stage contest and defeated Ryutaro Araga from Japan in the semi-finals to enter the finals. He was giving a real tough challenge to Ganjzadeh in the finals but he landed an illegal kick that leads to him being disqualified.

This ended his Olympic dream to become the champion and he left the arena with tears in his eyes and a Silver Medal for Saudi Arabia.

Tokyo Olympics: Ugur Aktas from Turkey won the second Bronze Medal in +75 Kg Men’s Kumite

The Turkish karate player, Ugur Aktas also end by being on the bronze medal position in the +75 Kg Men’s Kumite event. He won two out of his three group stage fights and advanced to the semi-finals to face Sajjad Ganjzadeh from Iran. He lost the fight after the score gets tied on 2-2 and adds one more Bronze Medal to Iran’s medallist.

Karate Live Results: Ryutaro Araga from Japan secured Bronze Medal in the Men’s Kumite +75 Kg Event

The Japenese Karateka, Ryutaro Araga secured a Bronze Medal in the +75 Kg Men’s Kumite event of Karate at the Tokyo Olympics. Araga won all his pool stage fights and moved into the semi-finals to face Tareg Hamedi from Saudi Arabia. Hamedi defeated him with a score of 2-0 and Araga end up being in the Bronze Medal position at the Tokyo Olympics.

Tokyo Olympics: Feryal Abdelaziz from Egypt secured Gold Medal in the Women’s Kumite +61 Kg

The Karateka from Egypt, Feryal Abdelaziz wrote her name in the books of history by becoming the Gold Medalist in the +61 Kg women’s Kumite in Karate at the Tokyo Olympics. Abdelaziz won two out of her four fights in the league state and she faced Sofya Berultseva from Kazakhstan in the semi-finals. Feryal Abdelaziz defeated Berultseva by a score of 5-4 and advanced to the finals.

She faced Irina Zaretska from Azerbaijan in the finals and defeated her by a score of 2-0 and won Gold Medal for Egypt in the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Tokyo Olympics: Irina Zaretska from Azerbaijan secured Silver Medal in the women’s Kumite +61 Kg

Irina Zaretska from Azerbaijan secured a Silver Medal in the women’s Kumite +61 Kg event of Karate at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. She won three out of her four league stage matches and faced Gong Li from China in the semi-finals, Zaretska defeated her with a dominating score of 7-2 and advanced to the finals.

Zaretska fell short in front of Feryal Abdelaziz in the finals and end up securing a Silver Medal for Azerbaijan in Karate.

Karate Live Results: Sofya Berultseva from Kazakhstan won second Bronze Medal in women’s kumite +61 Kg

Sofya Berultseva from Kazakhstan started her run by facing a defeat from Ayumi Uekusa from Japan in her very first group stage fight. Then she defeated Irina Zaretska from Azerbaijan in her very next fight, followed by one more win against Silvia Semeraro from Italy.

Berultseva faced Feryal Abdelaziz from Egypt in the semi-finals she presented her a real tough challenge but in the end, lost the fight by a score of 5-4 and won Bronze Medal for Kazakhstan at the Tokyo Olympics.

Karate Live Results: Gong Li from China secured Bronze Medal in the +61 Kg Women’s Kumite

The Chinese Karate player, Gong Li secured the first medal in the women’s Kumite +61 Kg event of Karate at the Tokyo Olympics. Li started her journey by defeating Hamideh Abbasali from Iran in the very first fight, after that she moved forward and had a draw against Elena Quirici from the Switerzland.

Gong Li then defeated Lamya Matoub from Algeria in her next fight and faced a loss against Feryal Abdelaziz from Egypt in her last pool stage fight. With these wins, Li advanced to the semi-finals and faced Irina Zaretska from Azerbaijan. Zaretska defeated her by a score of 7-2 and Gong Li secured Bronze Medal in the +61 Kg women’s Kumite event.
