LSU recently earned bragging rights, after defeating Georgia University in a gymnastics meet on Friday. Olivia Dunne, a 20-year-old social media sensation who is a part of the team, to celebrate her win.
Olivia Dunne is an American artistic gymnast and a social media sensation. She was originally a member of the United States Gymnastics team in 2017. She is now a part of the Louisiana State University Gymnastics teams in NCAA. Dunne has more than 3 million followers, owing to her success on TikTok and other social media platforms.
Dunne has quite the large amount of fans. At the meet, there were over 12,000 fans who had come to watch Livvy perform for LSU. While many fans politely asked her for a photograph, some were not so kind, and ended up causing a wild scene after.

Olivia Dunne’s fan following gains attention at LSU Meet
LSU lost last month to Utah, and during this time disrespectful fans were chanting for Dunne throughout the meet. This is surprising considering the fact that Dunne was not even participating since she was sidelined due to an injury.
The scene got even more disturbing as a group of male fans stood outside the arena screaming, “We want her!” Dunne later asked her fans to be more respectful, not only towards her, but also her fellow gymnasts, who felt unsafe due to the incident.
“I will always appreciate and love the support from you guys, but if you come to a meet, I want to ask you to please be respectful of the other gymnasts and the gymnastics community as we are just doing our job,” tweeted Dunne.
LSU gymnastics hired a bodyguard in light of recent events, with coach Jay Clarke taking extra steps to ensure the safety of the players. However, the fanatism of players has not reduced, and the millions of fans of Olivia Dunne continue to support her. The LSU team has also resorted to asking the local police force to be present in case situations end up going south.
