“One season is not going to convince me,” Stephen A Smith makes a massive claim about the Cincinnati Bengals’ Super Bowl dreams

Stephen A. Smith on the Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals were the talk of the town last season with their Cinderella story where the bottom feeders of the NFL went on to play in the Super Bowl within a year with a Quarterback who suffered one of the worst injuries in all sports just a year prior. Although the Bengals lost to the Rams, what they did was nothing short of a miracle.

With a new season on the horizon and a tectonic shift in the landscape of the NFL can the Cincinnati Bengals repeat their dream run to prove their legitimacy as a title contender? With a reinvigorated Lamar Jackson with the Ravens and the Cleveland Browns acquiring Deshaun Watson the Bengals may not be the best team in their own division. So many are asking will the Cincinnati Bengals repeat their dream run. ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith chimed in with his two cents.

Smith was on First Take and when asked by host Molly Querim about the Bengals being primed for another Super Bowl run. Smith’s reply was short and simple-“No. I don’t think so. I think they’re going to the playoffs I think Joe Burrow is the real deal. I think Ja’Marr Chase is the real deal. You give them credit where credit is due.

Smith went on to add-“They’re the Cincinnati Bengals. One season is not going to convince me that their years of ineptitude have been eradicated. I know they’ve renamed their stadium. It’s no longer Mike Brown Stadium and all of this other stuff. I forgot what the name of it is – I don’t care. It does not matter.”

He reiterated that Burrow and Chase are the real deals and also said that they’ll win games and go to the playoffs but he doesn’t believe that the Bengals will go back to the Super Bowl and that the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills are two teams that would be in their way to making the Super Bowl.
