Patrick Beverley REVEALS reason behind Klay Thompson taking less money to leave Warriors

Patrick Beverley recently spoke about Klay Thompson leaving the Golden State Warriors to join the Dallas Mavericks for the 2024-25 NBA season. Notably, Thompson shocked the basketball community as well as the Warriors fans when he announced his decision to leave the franchise where he spent 13 long years.

Interestingly, Beverley who played for the Milwaukee Bucks this past 2023-24 NBA season understands something about joining a new team. As such, he backed Thompson’s decision on the most recent episode of The OGs Show.

I didn't see that coming, but again, he took less money, he just [wanted] freedom, for him to have an ability to be a bail-out guy at the third option, yes.

In addition, Beverly’s statement regarding Thompson being the “third option” seems justified as Mavs star players Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving come ahead of him in the roster.

Interestingly, Thompson joining the Mavs has got the basketball community excited for the upcoming 2024-25 NBA season. The trio of Doncic, Irving and Thompson will be one to watch as the Mavs had a brilliant 2023-24 NBA season, clinching the WC. However, they fell short of the NBA 2024 title. On the other hand, Beverley signed with Tel Aviv in Israel for this upcoming 2024-25 season, ending a 12-year NBA career.

Patrick Beverley shocked the NBA community when he recently announced his decision to leave the NBA to join the Israeli side, Tel Aviv. Notably, many NBA fans criticized him saying he chose to leave the NBA for “money.” However, Beverly is on the same page as Klay Thompson according to his recent claims.

There were comments I took blood money, this and that, and I want people to know that my decision is always based on basketball. I got family members and homies that die in Chicago every single day that no one speaks about, but when I make a decision to go play basketball, everyone now is like the smartest expert of what’s going on in the world.

In addition, Beverley also asserted that he is excited to tour Europe as most of their games are all over Europe. Also, Beverley stated that he will travel to Bulgaria with his new colleagues on August 10th to begin training camp. It remains to be seen what happens next with Beverly’s basketball career with Tel Aviv in the upcoming 2024-25 season.
