Patrick Mahomes has been doubted before, but not in Darrell Doucette’s fashion. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback’s football IQ became a point of contention on who should lead the USA Flag Football team at the 2028 Summer Olympics.
Mahomes, who is arguably the best player in the NFL, except in the eyes of the NFL Network, has won three Super Bowls, is a 2-time NFL MVP, three-time Super Bowl MVP, multiple times All-Pro, and has six Pro Bowl honors. He is on the cusp of securing an unprecedented three-peat after leading the Chiefs to consecutive Super Bowl wins in 2022 and 2023.
Despite these achievements, USA Flag Football quarterback Darrell Doucette claimed he had better football knowledge and IQ than Patrick Mahomes. The 28-year-old replied with a cheeky tweet on X (previously Twitter) with a famous 50 Cent quote.
“I am like what he said fu** me for?”

What is the beef between Darrell Doucette and Patrick Mahomes?
Doucette stirred up trouble earlier this week. He is currently the quarterback for the USA Flag Football team and announced his desire to lead the team in the sport’s inaugural campaign in the 2028 Olympics in the USA.
On the other hand, several NFL stars like Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, and CeeDee Lamb have shown interest in representing their country because the Olympics don’t have American football. If the governing committee allows their lateral entry into the team, then most of the current members will not see much game time.
I love the fact that NFL players want to play and that they want to come out and compete, but at the end of the day, we want the same process. We have to try out, and so do they.Doucette said.
In his view, it will be disrespectful and unfair to athletes who have dedicated their lives to the game.
Give the guys who helped this game get to where it's at their respect.Darrell Doucette told The Guardian via TMZ.
Darrell “Housh” Doucette, quarterback of the USA national flag football team, called it “disrespectful” to assume NFL players will take Olympic team spots when his sport debuts at the 2028 Los Angeles Games.

The 35-year-old came into prominence with the USA flag football team in 2020. Since then, he led the side to successful triumphs in the 2021 World Championship in Jerusalem and a gold medal at the 2022 World Games in Birmingham. He was also the MVP at Alabama and won an Americas Continental championship in 2023.
Doucette even holds the record of winning an amateur game against a team full of NFL players in 2018, which was broadcast live on TV. The NFL team had running back Justin Forsett and former Seahawks QB Seneca Wallace.

He will be 40 at the next Olympics, but Doucette still wants to compete at the tournament and become the best in the world. And he wants to do that with his teammates, not with players from the NFL.
