The reigning Super Bowl champions’ former cornerback, Bashaud Breeland has reportedly been arrested for the second time in one year on assault and narcotics charges on police officers. The cornerback is already having to deal with legal issues from 2023.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department reported the former Super Bowl champion was arrested in Charlotte, once again, after being found possessing drugs and firearms back. On Saturday, the police responded to a call about drug activity at 12:30 p.m., where they discovered narcotics in the possession of Breeland.

The police also alleged the NFL player assaulted the police officer, who was trying to arrest him on the account of having illegal narcotics. The narcotics in Breeland’s possession reportedly include containers of marijuana, five bottles of promethazine hydrochloride, a bag of mushrooms, and dihydrocodeine bitartrate, as per the Charlotte Observer

In addition to this, the police also discovered multiple firearms with the former Kansas City Chiefs player.

As per the Jail records reported by The Post, Breeland is currently facing felony drug charges, one misdemeanor for resisting the arrest, two misdemeanor charges for assaulting a government official, and two additional misdemeanors for causing injury to personal property.

This is the second time in a year that the NFL cornerback has been found possessing firearms and drugs. In August 2023, Breeland was found with eight firearms, five pounds of marijuana, 62 grams of mushroom, and a stolen Mercedez-Benz SUV. The case is still pending in Mecklenburg County, and now additional charges have been imposed.

Unfortunately, these aren’t just a few instances with Breeland’s name involved in legal disputes. He seemed to have a history of criminal charges as he was also arrested in 2020 for resisting being handcuffed and ended up having a gun pointed at his face.

Breeland entered the NFL back in 2014 after being drafted by the then-Washington Redskins as a fourth-round pick. He played two seasons with the Chiefs, where he contributed to their Super Bowl victory, in 2020.
