The off-season trade hasn’t favored the Golden State Warriors who have failed to acquire a high-level second option for veteran point guard Steph Curry. As a result, NBA legend Paul Pierce on a recent episode of LG Certified has suggested a potential solution to the Dubs that involves trading for Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. 

The Warriors saw key targets like Paul George, who chose the Philadelphia 76ers, and Lauri Markkanen, who signed a contract extension. Thus, leaving them without a clear path to maximize Curry’s final years as well as set up for what will happen after Curry’s retirement or departure.

The only way I see Golden State getting back to where they need to get back to is if they can find a way to get Giannis over there.

Paul Pierce was of the opinion that acquiring Giannis Antetokounmpo was the one scenario that could revive the Warriors after they suffered their worst season in recent memory. The Warriors failed to make the playoffs last season as they were resoundingly beaten by the Sacramento Kings in the Play-In tournament last season.

While the trade sounds almost impossible, shocker deals have occurred in the past and there’s no chance ever that the Bucks will be willing to let go of their main star to a rival. Both teams will need a better season to dispel the ghosts of last season and return to the pinnacle of the beautiful game.

Carmelo Anthony knows a thing or two about greatness, as he himself was one of the greatest scorers in the history of the league. In a recent episode of 7PM in Brooklyn, he expressed his admiration for Steph Curry as he said he deserves to be called one of the greatest.

Furthermore, Anthony also noted that Steph Curry often didn’t receive the respect he deserved during his time playing alongside Kevin Durant. However, after winning a championship without Durant and shining in the Paris Olympics, the Baby-Faced Assassin is finally getting the recognition he deserves.

The Knicks legend went further to assert that Curry’s case would be stronger with another NBA championship, a feat that he acknowledged is unlikely with the current Golden State Warriors squad.
