Brooks Koepka has started the process of reapplying for the PGA Tour membership. This comes almost 2 weeks after he shocked the world by leaving LIV Golf. A PGA Tour star would send him a cheeky 5-word message on social media on Friday after reports of him reapplying for the membership came out.
Koepka, the 5-time major champion, left LIV Golf just before Christmas. According to the league, he would leave the Saudi-backed tour due to some family reasons. This brought an end to a 4-year stay for him with LIV Golf.
His departure generated a major buzz on social media. Koepka was one of the big names who left the PGA Tour for LIV Golf in 2022. He is now the first big name to leave them and try to earn his way back to the tour.
As per reports from ESPN, the former World No.1 has begun the process. The golfer has applied to be reinstated on the tour.
His application will be reviewed by new PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp, who, along with Tiger Woods and other board members, will then decide on the next steps. The American international will likely face some sort of disciplinary action.

Meanwhile, fans on social media have been buzzing since the news broke out. Many of them have urged the PGA Tour to let him come back and allow him to play as soon as possible.
At the moment, Koepka is eligible to play in all 4 major championships due to the 5-year exemption he got from winning the 2023 PGA Championship.
He did not reapply for his membership in the 2022-23 season. His last PGA Tour event was the Valspar Championship in March 2022, where he finished tied for 12th with an 11-under par score.
Golf insider tips his cap to Brooks Koepka after he reapplies for PGA Tour membership
After leaving LIV Golf, Brooks Koepka is trying to come back to the PGA Tour. The former World No.1 has applied to be reinstated on the tour. A golf insider would tip his cap to him following this development.

Koepka left the PGA Tour in 2022 to join LIV Golf in a deal reported to be worth more than $100 million. He would go on to win 5 times on the breakaway circuit and claimed his 5th major championship while being a member of them. Golf insider Dan Rapaport would recall this and seemed amused by all of this.
Gotta tip your cap to Brooks Koepka…took $100 million+ to go to LIV, won his 5th major, didn’t get banned from playing any majors, and now will return at some point and the world keeps spinning.

The major question now is, when will he actually return? Only time will reveal the answer to this, as some reports suggested that he could be made to serve a 12-month suspension for leaving the tour and joining LIV Golf in the first place.
The PGA Tour will begin its new season next week at the Sony Open in Hawaii at Honolulu. As for LIV Golf, their new season will begin on February 4 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, at LIV Golf Riyadh.
