Chelsea vs Southampton ends 3-3 in the Premier League. The blues lost a two goal advantage to the Saints at Stamford Bridge.
Timo Werner opened his Premier League account for Chelsea by scoring two goals. Kai Havertz too scored his first Premier League goal from a Werner assist. However Southampton did enough to steal a point.
Timo Werner started off with a fantastic piece of individual brilliance. The German striker executed a perfect dummy to get past the defender. Once done, blistering pace enabled him to rush into the box and fire in the shot.
The second goal came off a lovely assist from Jorginho. The midfielder lofts the ball over the defence for Werner. He in turn chips the ball over the goalkeeper and heads in. 2-0 to Chelsea! However Southampton fund a way back from Danny Ings. The striker rounds up Kepa and secures an easy goal.
Yet another Kepa Arrizabalaga mistake gives Southampton their second goal. Kurt Zouma played a horrible back pass but Kepa made things even worse. A mad scramble in the box and Adams slotted the ball in.
But Southampton’s joy was short lived as Kai Havertz restored Chelsea’s lead. A lovely run from Pulisic and Werner squared it up for Havertz to tap in. Vestergaard glanced in the ball from a Theo Walcott shot and Southampton yet again equalised. Match ended 3-3.
