Randy Orton didn’t have the best of weekends at WrestleMania XL. But that didn’t seem to faze The Viper more than getting to know that a beloved name for one of his longtime WWE colleagues, R-Truth, recently endured a stroke. The news was broken by Truth himself on X as Rosco, his cousin, was plagued on a night when the 51-year-old captured the Raw Tag Team titles along with The Miz on WrestleMania Saturday.
Orton, while taking utmost cognizance of the mess, quoted a reply to Truth’s revelation of his cousin. The Apex Predator was glad that he’s doing well now. And as disclosed by the real-life Ron Killings, Rosco has been his biggest hype man. Fortunately, the situation appears to be under control. Speaking of Randy Orton, he would want to forgo what went down in that triple-threat slugfest for the US title at WrestleMania.
Heading into the match, the 14-time World Champion had maintained a mutual camaraderie with Kevin Owens as they ganged up on Logan Paul. However, minutes into the bout, Orton and Owens realized it’s every man for himself and their short-lived bromance was ravaged. A moment came where popular online streamer IShowSpeed, who was guised as the Prime bottle at ringside, thwarted Randy.

It didn’t take long for the 44-year-old to unload on Logan’s insurance policy as Orton RKOed Speed on the commentary desk. Despite the shenanigans, the Legend Killer didn’t exactly get the job done. Just when it seemed he was about to pin Kevin following a pop-up powerbomb-turned-RKO, The Maverick derailed Randy’s footing as the former threw him out of the ring. As a result, the 29-year-old retained his gold.
What’s next for Randy Orton following WrestleMania XL debacle?
For an esteemed veteran like Randy Orton who’s done it all, it’s hard to fathom what is actually left for him inside the squared circle. But there’s a lot he can do. The most obvious choice for him would be to set the record straight with Logan Paul once and for all.
Or else, he could be inserted into a high-profile program with Cody Rhodes over the Undisputed WWE Championship. The long-standing history between Orton and Rhodes knows no bound. In fact, The Viper was the one who pinned Cody’s late dad, Dusty Rhodes, in his last WWE match.
While it’s possible that the company would want to make the most out of the inevitable tussle between the former Legacy stablemates, they might hold it back for later.
