Afghan leg-spinner Rashid Khan emerged as the sixth most-searched personality in India on Google for 2020. He also surpassed everyone to claim the pole position in the list of the most-searched sports persons on Google India. Khan is preceded by the new-elect US President Joe Biden, Arnab Goswami, Kanika Kapoor, Kim Jong-un and Amitabh Bachchan. He edged past India’s most famous sportspersons, Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni as well.

The 22-year continued with terrific IPL performance this year as well where he claimed 20 wickets from 16 matches for the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise. Rashid also recorded his career-best IPL figures of 3/7 during this edition only. His brilliant run at the recently-concluded cash-rich league would no doubt have some connection with the surge in his popularity.
