When it comes to luchador wrestling, Rey Mysterio is the first name that comes to mind. He is known among the fans for his incredible wrestling abilities and for his creative, fashionable masks. He has worn a mask in every match he has had throughout the majority of his career. Now, the WWE Hall of Famer has shared his honest thoughts on fans sharing photos of him without his mask.

In an interview with Wrestling Classic, the Master of the 619 was asked about fans clicking and posting his pictures without a mask. He replied to this by saying that he doesn’t have any problem with fans asking for the same. The former WWE Champion stated that he wrestled with no mask in the early days of his career. Therefore, fans recognize him pretty easily in public.

You know, it’s something I really don’t mind. A lot of fans recognize me and it’s kind of like a new era of wrestling. For a while, I did wrestle without my mask and a lot of fans know me because of that.

The LWO member also said that when the fans spot him without the headwear, he makes sure to respect them and their time without making the situation awkward. Besides, Rey Mysterio used to wrestle without a mask in WCW. However, when he came to WWE, he started following the luchador tradition of wearing the mask.

Last year, Rey Mysterio was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. It was a priceless moment for him and his family, who, aside from his son, appreciated it very much. Recently, when he was asked about how it feels to be a part of the Hall of Fame, Rey answered with a pretty wholesome reply.

In an interview with WrestleBinge, Mysterio stated that it feels successful to be inducted into the Hall of Fame class. He added that it is a feeling that is unmatchable and gives a sense of conclusion in life. Besides, he called it the payoff of years of struggles with oneself and family. 

When you look at it, you see all the work you've put in, the years, the sacrifices, and not only yourself, what you put your family through, my wife, my kids, and it gives you the sensation that we did it, We did it. It's like it's done. It's such a cool gratification feeling that I get every time I look at it.

Mysterio recently emerged victorious in tag team action at the Showcase of Immortals. The Master of the 619, along with Andrade, defeated the team of Dominik Mysterio and Santos Escobar. While they required some assistance from a couple of NFL legends, Mysterio most likely settled his differences with his rivals. It will be interesting to see how things are going to be for the legend from here on out.
