AEW star Buddy Matthews has just turned 36, and his wife Rhea Ripley couldn’t be more jubilant. She took to Instagram to post best wishes for her Aussie life partner. The couple could be seen twinning, as it usually does, rocking the same attire in a Halloween-kind setting with candles all around. Both of them are having the time of their lives together.
Not that long ago, Rhea and Buddy unlocked new couple goals as they flashed their matching friendship bracelets that embodied lifelong support for each other. That photo of theirs perfectly describes what a healthy relationship looks like. The husband-wife duo has made it a rule to stand for each other, no cap. Recently, Matthews was live on Instagram while working out.
He got asked on the stream whether he’d like to face Dominik Mysterio in a singles match. The 36-year-old savagely replied by saying the only way Dom could beat him is if Buddy were chicken tenders and Mysterio was hungry. It was a direct reference to the Raw star’s well-documented penchant for chicken tendies.
He has previously admitted that his girlfriend Liv Morgan always fed him the tenders, something that his ex, Ripley, could never do. The modern-day Latino Heat betrayed Rhea Ripley at this year’s SummerSlam. It enabled Morgan to overcome the menace of The Eradicator.
Liv and Dom sealed it with a kiss after the match, relegating the Australian wrestler to agony. Rhea has since tried to make her former boyfriend’s life a living hell. However, The Judgment Day hasn’t allowed it to happen. Standing by Ripley’s side have been her terror twin Damian Priest and Jey Uso, in whom Rhea’s starting to see her new man on screen.
Will Rhea Ripley put Liv Morgan in her place at WWE Bad Blood?
Next month at the Bad Blood PLE, Rhea Ripley will hope to get her lick back on Liv Morgan, with whom she’s been beefing since after WrestleMania XL. The women’s world title will be on the line with Morgan defending against Ripley.
Most notably, Dominik Mysterio will be locked up inside a shark cage. Actually, the origins of their rivalry could be traced back to July 2023. Mami brutalized Liv and sent her packing for months in kayfabe. Morgan had to be written off to cure a shoulder injury.
This year, the former Riott Squad member avenged that by sending Rhea to rehab after inadvertently injuring the 27-year-old during a backstage brawl on Raw after WrestleMania 40. Thankfully, the bruises weren’t too aggravating, and The Nightmare was able to return sooner than later.
