As if Rhea Ripley wasn’t already going through a tough time, her Judgment Day member, Finn Balor, had her momentarily shocked. For months, there was speculation about the first Universal Champion’s WWE status. Reports emerged that his contract was nearing its expiration this year. Therefore, Balor took to X and decided to have fun by providing an update on his future simultaneously. 

In what looked like a farewell message, The Demon expressed his gratitude to the company. Furthermore, he revealed that, after taking time to consider his future, he was going to stay in WWE. Balor’s friend, Ripley, was not pleased with this, replying to the major revelation. The Eradicator joked that she almost got a heart attack from the post on social media.

Later, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful disclosed that Finn Balor had signed a multi-year extension. While the exact details of the contract are unknown, he reported that it was a “big money contract.” Obviously, this is a huge deal for WWE, as it has managed to re-sign yet another name. The Stamford-based promotion will now shift its focus to retaining other huge stars such as Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch and Drew McIntyre whose contracts are also set to expire this year.

As for Rhea Ripley, she’ll be delighted that her Judgment Day teammate has extended his stay. The Eradicator is currently recovering from an injury after an ambush by Liv Morgan caused her to vacate her title. However, Balor’s positive update might’ve been the only good news for the faction yesterday. Dominik Mysterio also suffered an injury after being spotted in an arm sling on last night’s Raw.

Speaking of the latest edition of Raw, Becky Lynch became the new Women’s World Champion in the main event. As such, Rhea Ripley sent a message to not only The Man but also her rival, Liv Morgan. Mami mocked the latter for once again finishing as a runner-up in a marquee match.

Meanwhile, Ripley took a shot at Lynch by referring to her as an “interim champ.” Therefore, sending a warning to Big Time Becks for when she eventually returns to in-ring action. Just three weeks ago, the two tore the house down in the Night 1 opener of WrestleMania XL.

After a hard-hitting encounter, it was The Eradicator who emerged victorious. Now, Ripley might have the opportunity to go 2-0 up against one of the best female stars of all time. Meanwhile, Lynch will look to hold on to the title until Mami returns and avenges her loss at the Showcase of Immortals.
