Robin van Persie cautioned Manchester United as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side faces Sevilla in the semi-final of the Europa League.
In the quarter-finals, the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan side defeated Wolves to set up a last four clash with the squad of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
United beat Copenhagen thanks to an extra-time winner from midfielder Bruno Fernandes through penalty.
Sevilla is the most successful team in the Europa league history. They have won the cup 5 times more than any other club in the world.
Robin van Persie who won the 2012-13 Premier League at Old Trafford is aware of the fact that Julen Lopetegui’s side are 19 games unbeaten and will present a challenge to United.
Van Persie told Stats Perform News:
“Sevilla are one of the favourites. First they have to find a way around Manchester United.
“They are cup fighters; they live to play these types of games.
“I almost talked to them before my time at Arsenal, they were one of the three options I could go to. It was tempting to go there, but then I chose Arsenal.”
Persie on Manchester United recent top-form said:
“Last couple of months definitely been positive but they have to keep showing that but the pressure is on.
“I can’t say that if they don’t win the season is not a success, after the break it looks positive. It’s promising for next season.”
The winner of the game between United and Sevilla will face either Inter or Shaktar Donetsk in the finals of the 2019-20 Europa League.
