The return of Paul Heyman to WWE programming was one of the most discussed topics in the wrestling world for the past few months. Roman Reigns had been back since SummerSlam, and it was odd to see the Wiseman not come to his aid all this time while he struggled against The Bloodline. Even the 39-year-old himself found this quite odd.
Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Roman Reigns stated that he found the Hall of Famer’s behavior “shady.” Some fans blamed the OTC himself for not responding to Heyman’s calls when the latter needed him after Solo Sikoa took over The Bloodline. However, he defended himself by saying that when he takes a break, he is spending time with his family and is completely separated from in-ring business.
Thus, the question was, what had Paul Heyman been up to all this time? There were a lot of things that Reigns had to talk about with him. Currently, he was just as clueless about the wrestling legend’s whereabouts and actions during this time as the audience was.
However, it cannot be denied that Heyman showed up when Reigns needed him the most. The OG Bloodline was in dire need of a fifth member for their WarGames team. Nearly everyone in the locker room had already turned them down. As always, the Special Counsel proved himself to be the difference maker after finding them a partner in the form of CM Punk, who also made his return at the show.
Roman Reigns comments on appearing on Raw on Netflix
Roman Reigns has become almost synonymous with the SmackDown brand over the past few years. His last appearance on the red brand came in April during the build-up to WrestleMania XL, when he and The Rock attacked Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. However, with one of the biggest episodes of the show set to air in January, The OTC will be present once again.
During the same interview, Reigns said that while he would be at the premiere, he could not share many details about his appearance. Furthermore, he was unsure if he would be a permanent addition to the show throughout its tenure on Netflix going forward.
Reigns has also not finalized his dates with WWE for the build-up to WrestleMania. His appearance on these Raw Netflix shows could make a huge difference, especially for a deal this big. He completely understood that and loved to be a part of it. Reigns thought that these things usually end up well for everyone.
