Roman Reigns has been carrying WWE on his back for over four years now. He has been the mainstay of the Stamford-based promotion, and for many fans, it is hard to imagine professional wrestling without him. However, recently, The OTC gave his thoughts on his potential retirement from WWE after having an iconic run in the company in the past few years.
In an interview with Jimmy Traina on the SI Media Podcast, Reigns admitted that his body often feels sore in the morning, moments that make him contemplate the eventual end of his career. However, he emphasized that he is currently enjoying his time in WWE. Reigns expressed that there is still much more to explore as a superstar, making his retirement an event far into the future.

Additionally, before dropping his Undisputed WWE Championship, Reigns was working on a pretty light schedule. However, since his return at SummerSlam, he has been a mainstay on SmackDown. With the rumors of being the face of WWE for the Netflix Era, he is expected to be heavily involved with the programming in 2025.

Furthermore, at the age of 39, Roman Reigns has had an illustrious career in WWE with nine WrestleMania main events. The Head of the Table likely has many more years to serve as a WWE Superstar and a potential main eventer in the company. Therefore, it is safe to say that his retirement could be lying in the distant future as of now.

For years, speculation has surrounded the possibility of Roman Reigns transitioning to a Hollywood career after his time in WWE. While this remains a potential path, The OTC recently highlighted the differences between performing in WWE and acting in Hollywood. Sharing his perspective, the former Undisputed Champion praised WWE fans and reflected on the unique challenges of each medium.
In the same interview with Sports Illustrated, Reigns shared his special connection with the WWE Universe. He labeled the feeling of competing in front of a live crowd as indescribable. While acknowledging that Hollywood has its appeal, The Needle Mover emphasized that nothing compares to the energy of a WWE arena. He highlighted the unique ability to manipulate the crowd’s energy in real time.
Making movies is very cool, but there’s just something about having that crowd right there in the palm of your hand that you just can’t emulate. You can’t duplicate it. It’s WWE, and that’s it.

The former Undisputed Champion has not only experience working in the WWE ring but has also acted in a Hollywood film. Reigns appeared in The Rock‘s Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw in 2019, making his acting debut. Although many fans expect to see him pursuing his career in movies and TV shows, his heart lies in performing in front of the WWE Universe right now.
