The July 14th segment of Monday Night Raw moved a big chunk of storylines for SummerSlam. First and foremost, it was CM Punk who won the main event Gauntlet Match to earn the right to challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at the calendar year’s second biggest PLE. The Chicagoan did so after last pinning Bron Breakker as Jey Uso had neutralized the menace of Bronson Reed for a while.

After the match ended, Breakker and Reed stacked Uso and Punk over each other to inflict some more damage. However, just then, Roman Reigns‘ music hit for the first time since Raw after WrestleMania. With him now being referred to as the ‘OTC1’, Reigns made a beeline for Seth Rollins‘ henchmen and took them out. He then reached out to his cousin and shook hands with Uso.

In the meantime, ‘The Best in the World’ was also hoping for a similar gesture from Reigns toward himself, but to no avail. Punk, Reigns, and Uso stood tall with ‘The Tribal Chief’, talking trash to Breakker, Reed, and Paul Heyman, who were on the retreat. It can be said that Reigns’ return was long overdue since the night he was wrecked by ‘The Unpredictable Badass’.

At one point, there were rumors of Reigns’ comeback to cost Rollins the Money in the Bank contract in early June. That didn’t happen, and his former Shield brother went on to climb the ladder and unhook that dangling briefcase. Speaking of Rollins, his injury woes are expected to sideline him for the foreseeable future. There’s no concrete update on the severity of his knee issue just yet.

What could be Roman Reigns’ SummerSlam role after Seth Rollins’ bummer?

With Seth Rollins out of the equation, his protégés, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, must take the onus to make their visionary leader proud in his absence. They now have a certain ‘OTC’ to deal with as a potential SummerSlam clash is on the cards.

Going by what transpired during the closing moments of Raw last night, it’s hard to determine whether Reigns will take on either Breakker or Reed in a singles match. A more plausible situation could be Jey Uso joining forces with his cousin to lock horns with Rollins’ men at ‘The Biggest Party of the Summer’.

Whether CM Punk will also be involved in it needs to be seen. But if he were to be in the mix, Punk would have to compete on both nights of SummerSlam in that case. He already has a date with Gunther for the world title, as mentioned earlier. But Reigns and Punk on the same page is too big of a prospect for WWE not to cash in on.

If they end up partnering with Uso to form a trio, then Breakker and Reed will need one more muscle by their side, and it sure won’t be Paul Heyman. A few weeks ago, it was reported that WWE was considering adding more members to ‘The Visionary’s’ faction, with Ricky Saints and Ethan Page being the likely choices. Who knows if that’s in the cards in the weeks to come?

Scrapped ‘Tribal Chief Championship’ for Roman Reigns revealed

It has finally been revealed what WWE was planning for Roman Reigns at a time he was feuding with Solo Sikoa over the Ula Fala. Back in December, WrestleVotes reported that the company had talked about introducing a Tribal Chief Championship as Reigns and Sikoa were also feuding over the ‘Tribal Chief’ moniker.

But the discussions fell through, and it never saw the light of day. The same outlet has now posted a picture of what that Tribal Chief title was going to look like, as one can see below. It has Reigns’ caricature in the center with “Undisputed Tribal Chief” written just beneath his face.

For the unversed, ‘The Head of the Table’ went on to beat Sikoa on Raw’s Netflix debut and got the Ula Fala back. It was bestowed on him by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, being the elder member of the Anoa’i family. Fans in attendance were hoping for ‘The Final Boss’ to betray Reigns, but it wasn’t to be.
