Roman Reigns made his much-anticipated return to WWE last week at SummerSlam. He clarified his intentions of going after the Bloodline with a Superman Punch and a Spear to Solo Sikoa, potentially costing him the WWE Undisputed Championship against Cody Rhodes. The 39-year-old returned to WWE TV this week to continue his feud against his own blood.

After the latest episode of SmackDown went off the air, WWE released exclusive footage on their social media accounts of the OTC walking away from the ring. After looking at the audience, he turned around, raised his hand and index finger, and walked through the curtains. This was a gesture used by the Bloodline and the fans to acknowledge him during his reign as WWE Undisputed Champion. Reigns making the same gesture is a way of asking everyone, including Solo Sikoa, to acknowledge him as the true tribal chief.

The last segment of SmackDown featured Solo Sikoa in the ring with the Guerrilas of Dynasty, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa. Jacob Fatu was notably absent, possibly because of the injury he suffered at SummerSlam. The 31-year-old addressed Reigns and told him that he was the tribal chief now. If the 39-year-old wanted it back, he had to take it from him.

Reigns accepted the challenge and made his way to the ring. It wasn’t long before he was attacked by Loa and Tonga. However, the former Shield member laid them out with the steel steps. He took on the faction single-handedly. He got in the ring and had a brawl with Sikoa, who narrowly escaped a spear after being pulled out of the ring by his faction members. The Head of the Table speared Tama Tonga through the barricade. Furthermore, he decimated Tonga Loa with a steel chair before the show went off the air.
