The Rock had a successful run in WWE this time around. After being forced to turn heel, the wrestler-turned-actor embraced his “Final Boss” persona. Now, he has returned to Hollywood and is currently filming for an upcoming biopic, The Smashing Machine. The latest update on his acting career suggests that he might soon transition to the Marvel Universe.
As per rumors online, the superhero-based franchise wants Dwayne Johnson to play MCU villain Apocalypse. Moreover, further details have not been revealed regarding the report. In 2022, the People’s Champion portrayed DCU character Black Adam in the standalone movie. However, critics and fans alike heavily panned the project’s direction and story.

Later, The Rock seemingly parted ways with DCU after confirming that a second part wasn’t planned. This sparked a lot of speculation online on whether the legend’s insistence on making changes failed. In fact, amid his recent successful run in WWE, reports suggested that he returned to turn around his Hollywood failures. Furthermore, many believed that he was pitching for himself to dethrone Roman Reigns at WrestleMania.
Of course, plans changed due to the overwhelming support for Cody Rhodes. For most fans, it ended up being a blessing in disguise as Rocky turned heel for the first time in two decades. This led to weekly captivating promos and segments involving the Great One. At the moment, the rumored plans are for him to engage in a one-on-one rivalry with The American Nightmare once he returns to WWE.
Emily Blunt reveals she was offered free ticket for WrestleMania by The Rock
As mentioned above, The Rock is currently filming for the A24 biopic on Mark Kerr. One of the actors set to star alongside the WWE legend is Emily Blunt. Having said that, the latter recently spoke about her relationship with the Great One.

During an appearance on The Howard Stern Show, Blunt disclosed that she received an offer from Dwayne Johnson to attend WrestleMania 40. However, the actress chose to decline. Instead, she chose to watch The Final Boss from the comfort of her home. While explaining why she decided to do so, Blunt revealed that she had never watched the Brahma Bull wrestle.

Some might say she missed out on a golden opportunity as Rocky and his cousin, Roman Reigns, put on an enthralling show against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. One night later, he interfered in the WWE Championship main event, laying out John Cena before receiving a chokeslam from The Undertaker.
