Russell Wilson caught on to Damar Hamlin’s basketball skills. The Buffalo Bills safety threw a few hoops during a charity event in Pittsburgh on Saturday.

Hamlin and several other big names showed up for a charity event at North Allegheny Senior High School to raise money for his Chasing M’s Foundation. Tyler Boyd, DeJuan Blaid, Aaron Donald, Brandon Marshall, Julian Newman, James Cook, Micah Hyde, Jenna Bandy, Trae the Truth, Geno Stone, Sirian Neal, Jason Barrera, Gillie Da Kid, Miles Sanders, Cam Johnson, Puff Johnson, Dane Jackson, and Dion Dawkins all showed up to cheer to make the event successful.

They played a basketball game and the 26-year-old went bonkers after scoring the winning three points. A video shared by none other than the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson provided a textbook view of the proud moment.

The Super Bowl winner may be the newest addition to the Steelers Nation, but he has already won over the locals with his humble attitude and love for the community.

Why was Damar Hamlin in Pittsburgh shooting hoops?

Hamlin grew up on the outskirts of Pittsburgh in McKees Rocks in Pennsylvania. So it was a homecoming experience for the former Panthers player. During the offseason, he organizes camps to spread awareness about CPR following his life-changing experience during a football game.

In January 2023, while playing the Cincinnati Bengals in the playoffs, Hamlin’s heart stopped working for a short moment. Quick thinking by the medical staff to administer CPR brought him back from the clutches of death.

Since then, Hamlin made it his mission to spread awareness among young athletes and students in general about the importance of CPR in saving a person’s life. He has donated defibrillators and organized health camps teaching how to apply them when required.

Damar Hamlin will have a hard time getting into the Bills roster says expert

Although Hamlin recovered enough to be a part of the Buffalo roster, he barely made any starts last season. Most of his appearances were off the bench in the final moments.

The Athletic’s Joe Buscaglia predicted it would be more of the same for the fourth-year veteran. He even added that the Bills might think about trading the safety.

Hamlin looks like he’s on the outside looking in on the roster this year. The Bills’ trading him at some point before the season would not be a surprise, either.

Damar Hamlin is a fighter, and he wasn’t too thrilled about the report, so took a diss at the article on X.

Heard all about how they want me to lose but I’m W, Due for a win.
