After defeating Devin Haney in their most recent super middleweight match, Ryan Garcia stunned everyone. Legendary mixed martial artist Demetrious Johnson, who saw the battle, was astounded to see the 25-year-old perform so well.
Right after the fight, Demetrious Johnson shared a video on his YouTube channel where he reviewed the whole fight. DJ was impressed with Garcia’s performance and commented on him missing the weight and not getting the belt.
These guys make make $25-30 million, who gives a f*** who the champion is? They already been champions now it's about making as much as possible.Demetrious Johnson via Youtube

Going into the fight, Ryan Garcia looked extremely lost and acted weird through the press conferences. Many experts wrote him off when he missed the weight by 3.2 lbs and chugged a bottle of beer on the weighing scale. However, that didn’t stop ‘KingRy’ from pulling out one of the biggest upsets in recent boxing history.
DJ is known for giving insightful combat sports takes on his YouTube channel and believed that Haney would destroy Garcia. However, the former UFC champion acknowledged his error and gave Garcia the proper credit. But this may not be the fighter’s only contentious statement in recent memory.
Demetrious Johnson on Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou in a MMA bout
Francis Ngannou‘s boxing debut against Tyson Fury was much more impressive than fans expected. This pushed the former UFC heavyweight champion to try his luck with Anthony Joshua. However, the Brit had other plans and knocked out ‘The Predator’ in the second round.

While talking about a hypothetical MMA fight between AJ and Ngannou, Demetrious Johnson mentioned that the outcome would be the same.
It would just be another striking match. AJ understands his distance. He understands the void. He has better hands than Francis, and he can make Francis even whiff and miss again.Demetrious Johnson via Youtube
However, these remarks from Johnson did attract some criticism from fight fans given that Ngannou is a former MMA champion and will have more weapons inside the octagon. Nevertheless, like DJ, fight fans would love to see the heavyweights going at each other in an MMA setup.
