Kyrie Irving requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets on Friday, which sparked a frenzy as the NBA trade deadline approached. The next day, the team revealed that Irving would miss Saturday’s contest against the Washington Wizards because of right calf pain. Even though Kyrie Irving didn’t participate in the game on Saturday, Nets supporters were still able to criticize him. A video of Irving was played on the Barclays Center jumbotron prior to Brooklyn’s home game against the Washington Wizards, drawing vociferous jeers from the crowd.

Fans may be wondering if they have already seen the guard play for Brooklyn for the last time since the league’s trade deadline on February 9 is less than a week away. Jacque Vaughn, the team’s head coach, was uncertain whether Irving would show up for the game after he reportedly missed the team’s Saturday afternoon walkthrough.

Irving missed two games this season due to injury, not including the eight he missed while serving a ban for “failure to denounce antisemitism.” He was not immediately mentioned on the team’s first report Friday, which led to his third injury rest. Ben Simmons of the Nets missed his fourth straight game on Saturday due to pain in his left knee.

After the two sides apparently failed to reach an extension on Friday, Irving has demanded a trade from Brooklyn. According to reports, Irving’s representatives declined a proposal from the Nets because it was conditional on their winning the title. They implied that Irving would no longer remain with Brooklyn even if he was given the full maximum contract offer. Here’s how the fans reacted to Kyrie’s trade news
