Lately in the news, the Los Angeles Rams have been in the spotlight due to the trade rumors involving two of their star players, Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp. While there hasn’t been an update on the former, head coach Sean McVay finally addressed the trade speculations surrounding the latter.

With a 3-4 record, the Rams are navigating a challenging season, which has fueled speculation that the team is exploring potential trade options for both players. However, after the Week 8 victory against the Minnesota Vikings at 30-20, McVay criticized the media for fueling the trade rumors about Kupp while he was recovering from a serious ankle injury that caused him to miss four games.

The head coach addressed the rumors following the wide receiver’s return in week 8 after he had been sidelined since Week 2 due to his injury. Not only did McVay dismiss the trade rumors, but he also advised Kupp to stay in Los Angeles.

There’s a lot of stuff out there where there’s not a lot of accountability to the reports and that’s unfortunate. I think a lot of the things that were out there were speculation. We’re an inside-out organization. I’m really glad to have Cooper Kupp back with us, and that’s what I expect to stay that way.

Sean McVay told reporters

The Thursday Night Football game brought the Rams among the contenders for the playoffs, where the former AP Offensive Player of the Year had prominent contributions with five catches for 51 yards and a touchdown.

While the Rams head coach clarified that the team has no intention of trading the Super Bowl LVI MVP, he admitted that many teams across the league approached the Rams with a trade offer for him. But there is a great deal of misinformation and exaggeration surrounding the entire situation, which McVay finds frustrating, particularly since the veteran wideout has spent his entire NFL career with the Rams.

Here’s what I’ll tell you: Teams reached out. Some of the things I’ve seen out there, they’re just not true. We’ve addressed that with those individuals. Teams have called about him, and really we let him know what the dialogue was there.

Sean McVay clarified

As for the wide receiver, he has no plans to change teams at this point in his career. He prefers ignoring the ongoing speculations involving his name and rather focus on his game, as he did on Thursday by making several impactful plays.
