Kendrick Lamar was roped in to perform in the biggest game of the season. His stellar rise to the top of music charts after his hit single ‘Not Like Us’ was too good for the NFL to pass up. Along with him, they also roped in SZA to provide some additional tunes. However, no one expected tennis legend Serena Williams to be a part of the Super Bowl LIX half-time show.
The Super Bowl half-time show kicked off with Kendrick Lamar rapping to some of his best songs. He moved from one stage to another, trying to get the fans riled up. Then SZA came on, and the crowd cheered even more as the two belted out her songs together.
Then came the song that everyone was waiting for. Lamar first dissed Drake, the inspiration behind his most popular song. He called out Drake’s lawsuit, indicating that wasn’t going to stop him from singing ‘Not Like Us‘.
Then, during the song, as cameras panned around the backup dancers, a woman showed up wearing a blue jacket covering a white top. She also donned a blue skirt similar to tennis gear top women stars of the game wear.

It was indeed a former tennis great in Serena Williams who donned that costume, similar to what she used to wear on her way to several grand slam wins. This time, though, she was on stage to dance. She performed the ‘crip walk’, a dance move that was fitting for ‘Not Like Us’.

Since retiring from tennis, Serena Williams has been dipping her hands into many things. Business ventures, fashion shows, hosting the ESPYS, being the face of the Paris Olympics. All of it has continued to keep her in the limelight.
But this crip walk was something even she did not expect to do. That led her to post this on her X.
Man, I did not crip walk like that at Wimbledon. Ooh, I would have been fiiiire.

Doing a move like this at Wimbledon when she used to dominate the tennis world would have drawn a lot of criticism. However, this is the Super Bowl LIX, and the stage does not get grander than this. No wonder the second most women’s Grand Slam titles winner was hyped.

When she performed, the Philadelphia Eagles had a 24-0 halftime lead over the Kansas City Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes shook off his turnovers to help his Chiefs come back to score 22 points. But it has been a little too late as the Eagles stretched their lead to 40 points. Now they have won their second ever Super Bowl.
