The 2023 Formula 1 season came to an end last night after a grueling/Red Bull-dominated campaign. Sergio Perez managed a fourth-place finish at the event, but what he said about the stewards afterward has not sat well with many people. Seeing the aftermath of his actions, Perez has now come up with a public apology.
Sergio Perez was handed a 5-second time penalty for his contact with Lando Norris during the Abu Dhabi GP, had he not gotten the penalty, he would have finished second, and this was what pained him the most. While talking with Sky Sports afterward, he bashed the stewards and even went on to say that they were ‘very poor.’
However, after understanding what he had just done by calling out the stewards, he’s recently released a public apology via his Instagram handle. In his apology, he wrote;
This sport brings out the best in all of us and also the passion. Tonight I spoke with that passion & adrenaline after losing a podium.

Looking at the reaction of Perez, it is quite clear that, he deeply regrets what he said about the stewards in Abu Dhabi during his furious rant.
It's hard always having a radio live, not most sports have that. But I owed the stewards more respect, we all have a job to do and I respect the job they have to do in high pressure situations. Onto 2024.
Sergio Perez has managed a solid recovery in 2023
While Sergio Perez missed out on a podium finish at the Abu Dhabi GP, his overall 2023 campaign could be considered decent. Perez’s campaign started at a rollicking pace as he managed two wins in the first four races. But from Miami onward, things just went from bad to worse for him.
He kept falling away in the Drivers Championship battle against Max Verstappen, and by the end of the first leg, it was very clear that he was not going to catch his teammate. For the second leg, he had only one goal, and that was to finish in second place in the standings. While he looked pretty shaky during the second leg, he just managed to do enough in the last few races to hold off Lewis Hamilton.

Taking into account everything that has been discussed above, it can be said that Sergio Perez for his own sake, has managed to make a solid recovery this year. His contract with Red Bull is up at the end of 2024 and this fact makes next year immensely crucial for him.
