Inter Milan vs AC Milan ended in 2-1 win for AC Milan in the Serie A. Zlatan, returning after recovering from coronavirus hit two first half goals to settle the derby in favor of AC Milan at San Siro. Inter Milan did manage to get one through Romelu Lukaku but it wasn’t enough.
Zlatan got the first goal for AC Milan by tapping home the rebound from the penalty kick which he earned himself after Kolarov tackled him. The second goal came in quick fashion through a superb counter attack led by Calhanoglu who sent Leao clear down the left and his cross led to simple close range finish for Zlatan.
However, Inter Milan got a goal back to make it 2-1 through Romelu Lukaku. The player got a simple tap in from the cross of Ivan Perisic in the 29th minute. Subsequently, Inter got more chances as AC Milan cleared off the line from Lautaro’s header and Lukaku missed a free header. But, AC Milan held on to go 2-1 up at the break.
The second half continued with Inter Milan putting significant pressure on the visitors. This resulted in a penalty for Inter Milan after Donnarumma fouled Lukaku but VAR over ruled the penalty after seeing that Lukaku had strayed offside in the build up.
Nevertheless, AC Milan held on for a famous win as Lukaku missed two chances to equalize at the death for Inter Milan. Thus, this victory put AC Milan at the top of the table on 12 points after 4 matches played. The team has also gone 20 matches unbeaten in all competitions after this victory.
