It’s been almost 9 weeks since Seth Rollins got operated upon for a torn rotator cuff. The cast, which he had to put on for a while, is off, and he’s in no apparent discomfort as far as his upper body movement is concerned. ‘The Visionary’ recently joined Jay Mohr on his Mohr Stories podcast for a lengthy conversation.
In an excerpt from their chat, Rollins could be heard taking a firm stand for WWE against those constantly dumping on the company over its Saudi Arabia ties. The 39-year-old addressed the so-called blood money fuss that’s been a part and parcel of the debate among naysayers ever since WWE agreed to a 10-year pact with the Saudi General Sports Authority in 2018.
Guess what, we get paid by America, too. You think there is no blood money there? Come on. Get out of here. We’ve gone there for six years. When we went in 2019, I was skeptical as well. ‘I don’t know about this.’ When I tell you, we went there for the first time, there were no women on our show. No women backstage. Now, we go there and it’s just like a WWE show. There are a ton of women.

Countering that argument, Rollins questioned whether there’s no blood money over there in the United States. “Get out of here,” quipped the Iowa native the very next second. It’s been over six years since WWE started holding shows in Saudi Arabia, and a lot has changed from the time it first toured the country. Even Rollins was skeptical about its feasibility at first.
Seth Rollins talks about WWE getting criticism for going to Saudi Arabia over the last 6 years, says he was skeptical about going there at first:

However, a drastic shift in people’s mindset and their gradual acceptance of women’s wrestling to a point where the female wrestlers receive almost the same representation on the card as men speaks volumes about it. ‘The Architect’ noted how there wasn’t a single woman backstage at WWE’s debut show in Saudi Arabia, let alone on the actual match card. But that’s no longer the case.
In fact, Liv Morgan was in Riyadh as of a few days ago to promote the upcoming Royal Rumble PLE alongside her male WWE counterparts in Randy Orton, Grayson Waller, and more. Next month on January 31, the women of WWE will make their Royal Rumble match debut in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the men having done it previously in 2018 at the Greatest Royal Rumble Ever.
Seth Rollins provides WWE return timeline from torn rotator cuff
In the aforementioned conversation, podcast host Jay Mohr asked Seth Rollins about his return timeline from the injury. The six-time world champion wasn’t sure about it, but three months could be the way to go. Speaking about his WrestleMania 42 status, Rollins affirmed he’ll push himself to make the grand spectacle in April.

However, it’d be up to WWE to clear him, something that the former ‘Monday Night Messiah’ has no control over. Talking about the frustrating nature of his current injury, it didn’t bother him that much in the moment he tore his rotator cuff mid-match against Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel. In fact, Rollins put on a sling in its aftermath and was doing fine after taking a couple of painkillers.
The surgery, however, has been taxing on him. The erstwhile Tyler Black getting sidelined caused a domino effect on WWE’s existing creative and future plans. At one point, Seth Rollins was on track to wrestle his former Shield brother Roman Reigns at next year’s WrestleMania. It would’ve been a blockbuster money-maker with or without a world title on the line.
Seth Rollins' response when asked if he'll be ready in time for WWE WrestleMania 42:

"I will be working hard to try. I don't know the answer to that, it's really not up to me. They have to clear me."

Rollins, the then-world champion, could’ve dropped the title to his ex-Vision protégé Bron Breakker, whose coronation has always been a long-term plan. Now that none of that makes sense with Rollins on the shelf, what could possibly be his return scenario?
It’s purely based on the online speculation, but has ‘The Visionary’ planted his mole in The Vision to avenge the beatdown that Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed gave him a few months ago? That spy, as per the internet, could be Austin Theory, who has been revealed as the masked hooded man from Survivor Series.

Theory teamed with Reed for an impressive win over Rey Mysterio and CM Punk on Raw this past Monday. The former US Champion used the Seth Rollins-made-famous Curb Stomp to get the pinfall over Mysterio, further sparking rumors of Theory working in cahoots with Rollins, who took him under his tutelage during the pandemic-era landscape of WWE.
