In Short
  • Seth Rollins praised Bad Bunny's Super Bowl LX halftime show for its message of love and unity.
  • Rollins expressed emotional impact despite not knowing any of Bad Bunny's songs.
  • Jake Paul faced backlash for his controversial comments about Bad Bunny's performance.

Seth Rollins was mesmerized by Bad Bunny‘s halftime show performance at Super Bowl LX this past Sunday. ‘The Visionary’ took a moment while appearing on Good Morning Football to heap a ton of praise on his “fellow WWE Superstar.” Rollins highlighted how there was loads of outside noise heading into it, but at the end of the day, all Bunny did was convey the message that love is stronger than hate.

The 6-time world champion affirmed that the Grammy-winning artist’s flamboyant display reeked of inclusiveness regardless of cultural differences and ethnic divisions. Rollins thought the act put forth by Bunny explained what the Super Bowl was all about—bringing people together and getting them to talk about their penchant for football.

I wanted to give a shoutout to Bad Bunny, because it was just awesome. My colleague Benito — fellow WWE Superstar. You know, there was a lot of talk going into the halftime show about this and that and this and that. But at the end of the day, it was about unity. His message was about bringing people together. Love is stronger than hate. And I just thought that was so beautiful and so powerful.

While the former Shield member admitted that he didn’t even know a single Bad Bunny song, he was in tears by the end of that halftime show. Not everyone seemed to like the fact that the Puerto Rican singer-rapper got to headline the SB 60 halftime show. Jake Paul rallied to boycott it through a social media post. ‘The Problem Child’ labeled the 31-year-old as a “fake American citizen” in a statement that erupted controversy.

He later clarified that he didn’t use that phrase for Bunny because he was from Puerto Rico. In fact, he did so as Jake didn’t endorse Bunny’s anti-ICE agenda and severe criticism of the US administration. The older of the Paul brothers, Logan, didn’t reciprocate what Jake had to say. ‘The Maverick’ was elated to see someone from Puerto Rico performing at such a global level.

Seth Rollins’ previous WrestleMania direction likely to be changed

Seth Rollins has been off WWE programming since last October. He had suffered a torn rotator cuff in his left shoulder while wrestling Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel. Recent reports suggested that WWE was working under the impression that ‘The Visionary’ would be deemed medically fit by WrestleMania. The company had even penciled in Bron Breakker as Rollins’ Mania opponent.

The recent emergence of the black-hooded mystery man that ambushed Breakker before the Royal Rumble match was to plant seeds for an eventual Breakker/Rollins match at the Grandest Stage of Them All. However, with Breakker also catching the injury bug, the 28-year-old is indefinitely sidelined after being operated upon for a hiatal hernia.

One would imagine his planned bout with Rollins is now off the cards. ‘The Unpredictable Badass’ is extremely unlikely to make it back in time for WrestleMania. In fact, he might be out of action for as long as 6 months in the worst-case scenario. On the contrary, Rollins does seem on track to make his return by WrestleMania.

But his creative direction at the tentpole event is pretty much certain to be altered. Some fans are wondering if WWE would bring him back to go after the winner of the Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk match for the Undisputed WWE title.

‘The Architect’ has had history with both Reigns and Punk, and there’s a ton of unfinished business among these men. ‘The OTC’ might get ambushed by his former Shield brother considering he does dethrone ‘The Best in the World’ in Las Vegas. It could possibly lead to Reigns vs. Rollins at SummerSlam 2026, which is slated to emanate from the US Bank Stadium this year.
